Eagle and Condor is a ceramic mural that is being co-created by people across Lake County within their communities. The mural will be completed and installed on the MAC building facing Hwy 29 in Middletown.
Co-created by people from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and generations across Lake County, the EAGLE and CONDOR ceramic mural is a symbol of Unity. The piece will enhance Middletown’s central junction, attracting residents and visitors to view, interact, and be photographed with the piece as they stand in front of, and “become the winged bird.” The EAGLE and CONDOR ceramic mural was crafted in sections at more than 25 community engagement sessions held across Lake County. These sessions took place in diverse settings, including festivals, senior centers, Boys and Girls Clubs, tribal education centers, family health and wellness centers, and schools. Each section comprises organic elements ranging in size from beads to fist-sized pieces, which allowed participants of all ages, abilities, and skill levels to express their creativity within an inviting and inclusive framework. |
Glazing, assembling and installation of the mural on the MAC building will happen in a series of public workshops at MAC in spring/summer 2025.
